Assassin’s Creed: Rogue – Should it come out on next-gen?

Assassin’s Creed: Rogue is coming out on PC on March 10th of this year, and along with this announcement, people have asked – will there be a PS4 and Xbox One version coming out anytime soon?

Rogue runs the same engine as 2013’s installment, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Given than Black Flag did come out on all gaming systems, it seems reasonable to think that a PS4 and Xbox One version of the open-world action-adventure game is quite possible. The next-generation consoles will allow for enhanced visual effects, more stable framerate, and above all, a generally more enjoyable experience.

Unfortunately, Ubisoft have announced they currently have no plans to release the game on Playstation 4 or Xbox One: “We don’t have any other plans to bring [Rogue] to the next gen consoles and no idea on whether it will emerge in the near future“.

It is currently unknown whether the PC version will have enhanced visuals, such as the ones seen in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. It has been confirmed, however, that PC gamers will be able to control the game with their eye movements alone, by taking advantage of the Tobii technology.

Assassin’s Creed: Rogue is currently available for puchase on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms, as well as available for pre-order on PC.
